Create a blank image with the
size you want. Type your text (Your text need to
be large enough to get the effect). |

Load the text selection (Hit
Ctrl + Left click the
text layer). Keep the selection and never lose
it till we get to step
. Go to Channels. |

Now click the Save selection as channel
button
. |

While you still at the Alpha 1 channel go to: 6 pixels. Again 3 pixels. Again 1 pixel. |

Now go back to Layers Palette.
You will need the text layer later, so duplicate
it and use the copy layer. Go to . and use the setting shown
below: |

Go to 1 pixel. Go to
1 pixel. Now hit Ctrl+Shift+I to invert the
selection and hit Delete to get ride of
unwanted edges.
It's time to deselect (Ctrl+D).

Now drag this layer down to the
Create a new layer
button to duplicate it.
Name the new layer Wrapping. Go to and enter the values shown
below: |

Duplicate this layer. On the
Wrapping copy layer change
the blend mode to Screen
(or you may choose another mode depending on your
text color). |
